Never. Again.

Dear Blizzard,

I have just finished the grueling chain of quests one must accomplish to enter Onyxia’s Lair. I now despise all dungeons containing stone, steel, or flame. Why? I shall explain for all non-Blizzard administration that somehow gets their hands on this note.

The first part of the quest involves killing dragons that wander the surface of Azeroth. Once you have completed that measly task, one sets out to the Blackrock Depths to find Marshal Windsor. One you find him, locked away in a cell, he tell you that he doesn’t give a crap about his mission anymore. You return to the questgiver, and he reccomends that you find some proof for Windsor that there is still hope. Back into Blackrock Depths it is to look for a note. Any and every humanoid enemy drops it, so we just kept killing enemies. Eventually, we all got the note. Back to Windsor. What does he want? He wants you to go and kill two bosses, that we had already killed, for the information they took from Windsor. So we left the dungeon, reset it, charged back in, killed the two bosses, got the information, and went back to Windsor. Now Windsor wants an escort out of the Blackrock Depths. After escorting him out, which can take some time, one takes him to Stormwind to unveil the Lady Katrana Prestor as Onyxia. After a series of events, you take the painfully-slow Windsor to the Stormwind Keep where he reads from enchanted tablets to show Prestor’s true form: Onyxia. Windsor is killed on the spot, whereas the rest of everybody inside the Keep is forced to fight eight of Onyxia’s guards. Afterwards, you obtain a quest to find a dragon in humanoid form. Without and AddOn or a Website to look up where she was, I never would have found her.
Anyway, after following the AddOn waypoint, we found her. She tells us to head to the Upper Blackrock Spire where a General Drakkisath lurks. We impatiently stomped back to the Blackrock Mountain and entered the dungeon, which was intended for ten people. As it turned out, one could not enter the Upper section of the Blackrock Spire without a Seal of Ascension. To get this Seal of Ascension, one must find their way into the bowels of the Blackrock Spire and obtain three gems, and an Unadorned Seal of Ascension. Because only one person can get the gems and the Unadorned Seal of Ascension, we rolled on it and our mage won. I was a close second.
We fought our way through the dungeon, looking at guides and maps on the internet as to where these bosses, the ones with the gems, dwelled. We easily found and killed the first two, but the third proved to be quite a hard find. After we did kill him though, we returned to the questgiver and completed it. He tells us to go and mind control a dragon and make him fix the Seal of Ascension. After hundreds of attempts, we realize that we are still in a raid group. Thus meaning we cannot complete non-raid quests like this one. Completely ticked off, we complete the quest and stomp off to the guy, now attuned for Upper Blackrock Spire, we charge in.
Quickly, we fight our way through the instance, making it to General Drakkisath and, literally, out for his blood. After multiple tries, we finally slay the Draconic General and take a blood sample back to the barely-findable questgiver and recieve the goodness. Attunement to Onyxia. We also got attuned to Blackwing Lair as an added bonus.

All in all, the chain of instances and quests was very grueling. But in the end, it was a lot of fun. Especially when you ran the whole thing with family and some guildies thrown in at random points during the chain. That doesn’t mean I’m gonna do it again though!
